TGS 2010: Pictures from the Show Floor

Here are some of the sights and experiences from the Tokyo Game Show:

The yearly giant poster from just outside the Makuhari Messe convention center where TGS takes place.

The Behemoth keeps upgrading their booth every year and even had their mascot rivaling the size and stature of Square Enix.

Yakuza at Sega's booth

Yakuza Theater at Sega's booth. You'll find that each game has its own setting in a subsection of a company's booth...except for Microsoft.

A close-up of the Yakuza booth. There were a lot of shambling zombies this year.

This is how "busy" it is for spoiled people like myself on the business day. Notice how there is walking room.

Microsoft's booth had a large Kinect presence but not too many places to actually play it.

Who needs to review the control sheet they were handing out when the Valkyrie Chronicles 3 booth babe was there while people waited in line to play the game.

Capcom Premium Theater says it all. On the public days, there should really be a half mile radius around Capcom's booth for all the foot traffic.

Play Sony Move and have the backpack man stare at you in the distance. As a complete opposite, there were curtains and privacy on the other side as I lined up for a Move game.

A close-up of some of the Move posters. A man told me not to take pictures afterwards. I get that a lot at TGS.

Thanks to its success in Japan, the Monster Hunter booth had a budget in the billions.

Business day still! Square Enix tucked away Gun Loco to the side. Admittedly not a bad demo to play!

One of the more unique booth setups I have seen from any game show, the Konami booth was made mostly by stacking crates. Notice the Catherine poster on the right side that was not playable or viewable in any form. As a matter of fact, I thought that was Atlus and not Konami.

Here the booth babes have formed an impenetrable wall to hold back foreigners. OK, so maybe they line up at the end of the day as a final photo-op. Definitely a high note to end on.

Here in the farewell at Sega's booth is Sonic's "Oh snap" moment as he is either told he's not a chick or to keep his fastest thing alive to himself.

Sega had a buffet assortment of booth babes.

They left after my buffet comment.

During the war, Russia said we have more men then you have bullets. Microsoft has applied this philosophy to booth babes vs. gamers.

The Kinect dancing stage! Why not?!

If you've come to the point where you don't even know who the booth babes are representing and still take a picture, is it wrong?

The Monster Hunter booth babes at the end of the day in their more traditional attire.

WebMoney? It's the dotcom bubble all over again!

This is my view of the LAST THIRD of the lineup to get in on the first public day. At only 1000 Yen ($12ish), it doesn't cost much to get in. Oh and when individual game lineups get too long, they just close them. Somehow, I only waited 20 minutes to play the Level 5-Ghlibi PS3 game that day, albeit in Sony's booth.

A higher view on the escalator ride down to the show floor.

Another side of the hall. Microsoft, Sega, Tecmo and Konami were in another hall of similar size.

"So long TGS! I'll write an article solely about photos of you."
