E3 2011: Ubisoft Announces 5 games in development for Wii U (Ghost Recon detailed)

Ubisoft and Nintendo will partnering together for the new Wii U. A long time relationship and similar cultures are the driving reason behind this Iwata said at Nintendo's second roundtable meeting.


After Iwata left the stage Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot came on stage and announced that they are currently developing 5 games for the Wii U.

The first 3 titles announced are:

Assassin's Creed

Raving Rabbids

Ghost Recon: Updated!!!

  • Will which use all capabilities of the Wii U.
  • Three classes: assualt, recon and specialist.
  • Uses controller screen for drone view.
  • Controller screen also used as map and source for Intel. Click part of map to plant an interactive beacon.
  • Use gyroscope to guide missiles.
  • Can use dron to mark
  • Has standard shooter controls.
  • Can use forcefield to offer protection in battle.
  • Personalized online account system with friends list. (NO mention of friend codes)
  • New feature called Ghost Feed (always on) tracks everything your friends do online.
