Today, Ubisoft announced Killer Freaks from Outer Space as an exclusive FPS for Wii U. Ubisoft said their focus for the game was to rethink the FPS genre with creativity and innovation while using everything they’ve learned about games up to this point.

The player is one of the few survivors left on Earth while the killer freaks - monstrous enemies - are in control. The game itself is sent in a mostly-destroyed London, with the goal being to blow them away in as many ways possible. And luckily, your character loves to kill things.

Since the game screen  appears identically on the TV and the controller, it’s easy to do 180 turns with the accelerometers and gyroscope in the Wii U controller - especially while flying around with a jetpack. When you turn really fast, it uses an intelligent interface to make you spin faster virtually than you are on real-life, allowing for quick targeting.

This game doesn’t sound like one made for the kiddies as two freaks were seen having sex in the demo--an element of the game’s frequent use of dark humor. Fire effects and great graphics were plentiful in the demo. Enemies would appear from green portals of gunk and the trailer ended with a huge (think War of Worlds size) killer freak coming near.

What we saw looked exciting, though it may be some time before we learn more as the game isn’t due for release until next year.
